The Wendigo is the result of a curse that turns any person who eats human flesh in the Canadian wilderness into its supernatural form. It is a giant white beast in a humanoid shape. The first Wendigo was a hunter named Paul Cartier who was trapped with his friends by a pack of wolves. One of the party died, and faced with starvation, Cartier ate from his body, and subsequently became the Wendigo. |
