Exo-Skeleton: The Controller possesses a stainless steel exoskeleton body armour that has been micro-surgically attached to his body. The body armour provides him with some protection from physical damage. The armour is also covered with micro-circuited power converters designed to receive cerebral energies from the slave discs he places on his victims and convert it into physical strength. Each disc is capable of diverting 85% of a persons cerebral energies to the Controller for his use.
Telepathy: The Controller can telepathically communicate with any being he has placed a slave disc on.
Mind Control: The Controller can control and direct a subject’s actions mentally for as long as he concentrates on that person. |

As a child, Basil Sandhurst grew up plagued with sickness and often lay bed-ridden for months. He grew up to become a scientist as a result of this childhood, one where he often felt life was never under his control. However, his unorthodox practices and theories, all about harnessing the power of the human mind, only served to bar him from working with any legitimate research center. Thanks to the influence of his brother Vincent, an unscrupulous lawyer, Sandhurst found work at Cord Industries one of the leading competitors of Stark Industries. During a visit by his brother, Sandhurst feeling frustrated by the mundane work, went into a frenzy, wrecking valuable instruments and machinery. Attempting to pacify his brother, Vincent accidentally pushed him into some volatile chemicals, which exploded, scarring and crippling Sandhurst.
Consumed by guilt, Vincent embezzled funds from Cord Industries to outfit his paralysed brother with an automated laboratory of his own. Sandhurst used the facilities to create a “mental wave absorbatron”, a device that drained the cerebral energies of whoever was connected to it. He then transferred it to a uniquely equipped exo-skeleton that he wore, in the form of motive power. Calling himself the Controller he began his criminal career. |
