| Mental Powers: David Haller is a mutant with multiple psionic powers, not all of which have appeared. Due to an extremely traumatic event in his childhood, Haller became catatonic, then autistic. Haller's mind splintered so that a different personality controls a different aspect of his psionic abilities. Jemail Karami, a terrorist whose mind Haller absorbed, controls Haller's telepathy. He can read minds, fire telepathic bolts, and project illusions at a phenomenal ability. Jack Wayne is an alternate personality controlling Haller's telekinesis. He can levitate objects of up to one ton in weight, place a telekinetic force field around himself, and can levitate Haller's body and allow it to fly. Cyndi is another personality that controls Haller's pyrokinesis. She can generate intense heat, create flames, or induce spontaneous combustion. | |||||||

| David Charles Haller is the son of Charles Xavier, who later became the founder of the two teams of superhuman mutants, the X-Men and the New Mutants, and Gabrielle Haller, who later became the Israeli ambassador to Great Britain. His parents met when Xavier was travelling the world and briefly stayed to help the American Red Cross efforts in Israel. Xavier left Israel without knowing Gabrielle was pregnant, and Gabrielle kept the secret of his son until many years later. | ||||
| When David was 10, he was living in Paris with his mother. Her home was invaded by a terrorist assassination team out to kill every Israeli they could find there. They murdered David's godfather, Daniel Shomron, before his eyes. David's terror catalysed his latent psionic powers, which he used to incinerate the brains of the assassins. However, as he did so, he found himself making telepathic contact with each of his victims, thus experiencing their thoughts and emotions as they died. This traumatized David and forced him into a catatonic state. Later on he became afflicted with multiple personality disorder. | ||||
