Mark Raxton was working as an assistant to the inventor Spencer Smythe who had invented a liquid metal alloy. Raxton wanted to sell the invention but Smythe believed it needed more testing. The two argued and when Smythe tried to stop Raxton physically, Raxton knocked the professor unconscious, but lost his balance himself and fell. The liquid metal spilt over him and absorbed into his skin transforming him into the Molten Man. |
