Enhanced Abilities: Carnage’s symbiotic costume provides him with enhanced strength, agility and endurance. Carnage’s strength is coincidentally greater than Spider-Man and Venom’s.

Wall Crawling: Carnage is able to stick to almost any surface.

Symbiote: Carnage can fashion his costume as to imitate any material (such as clothes and skin) and create tendrils from any part of it. The length of these tendrils appears unlimited. He can also solidify parts of his costume to create various constructs (most often blades, axes, and razor-sharp talons), and shoot sharp projectiles towards his opponents. These projectiles remain solid for little more than ten seconds, after which they turn to dust. As with Venom, Carnage does not trigger Spider-Man's danger sense, does not need to breathe, and is capable of sensory perception from any part of his body. At most recent years, Carnage has also learned how to increase his mass by absorbing other Symbiotes, and send his costume through telephone lines by reducing it to a cellular level.

Regenerative Healing Factor: Carnage is able to rapidly regenerate damaged bodily tissues much faster and more extensively than an ordinary human.

Origins:

Arthur Krane is the son of Senator Peter Krane, a demagogical politician. A sociopath, Arthur began torturing and killing animals as a child before moving on to humans, relying on his father to cover up his dark secret. After Senator Krane became affiliated with the Friends of Humanity and began appealing to and inflaming the growing anti-extraterrestrial prejudice in order to gain supporters for his presidential campaign, Arthur began secretly plotting to murder his father and usurp his senatorial seat. To this end, Arthur developed a kindhearted persona to appeal to the masses, disapproving of his father's hard-line xenophobic stance. Following a rally where his father announced his affiliation with the Friends of Humanity, Arthur openly expressed disgust at Peter's statement that he would happily call for the deportation of extraterrestrial superheroes like Hyperion and Thor, and even instigate genocide if it meant securing his presidency. In the weeks that followed, the Carnage symbiote, piloted by Cletus Kasady's codex, hopped from host to host until it reached Arthur and possessed him. Initially intending to use Arthur as a stepping stone to take over Senator Krane, Carnage came to see him as a kindred spirit and successor to Cletus Kasady, and co-opted Arthur's assassination plot into its own goals.
