The half-human demigod Kyknos, son of Ares and the Mycenaean princess Pelopia, erected a temple at the River Echedorus in Macedonia with the bones of travellers he had slain to honour his father. In 1268 BC, Hercules passed through the area, and Kyknos targeted him, eager to add his bones to the temple after learning of Hercules identity. |
