| Ernest St.Ives was a soldier in the First World War on the battlefields of France. He was the only surviving member of his company lying broken and bleeding in a stinking mire deep underground. As he lay their mustard gas seeped into the hole burning his lungs. Death appeared offering her hand but Ernest rejected her with every fibre of his being. Ernest awoke his wounds and pain gone. He had done what no other mortal had ever done; he had fought death and won. Unfortunately their was a price to his victory his touch had become as lethal as deaths. When he returned to his family his touch brought death to his wife as she ran to embrace him. Over the years his self-loathing faded and he began to serve death becoming powerful and feared. |
