Origins:

Res-Vir is a Daxamite, a species that tend to stay on their home world, due to a vulnerability to lead that causes pain and weakness. Res-Vir a student, was being taught by offworlders by virtual reality, he worked on a micronuclear program, which enabled him to steal a sample of Kryptonite, he then promptly disappeared. He left Daxam and joined up with the alien race known as the Dominators. Using the Kryptonite the Dominators synthesised a version of the ‘Anti Lead’ serum that Brainiac 5 developed to allow Mon-El to live away from Daxam. Res-Vir took the serum and adopted the name of the Renegade to pave way for a Dominator invasion, which he believes will allow his people to be freed from a perceived bondage enforced by the United Planets.
