| Stack Macklin was first seen as a fellow trainee in the astronaut program with Diana Prince. Later, when S.T.A.R. Labs put on a lunar exhibit in Metropolis in hopes of raising money to start a space colony program, NASA sent Stacy as a guest. Speaker, along with a space capsule used previously by astronaut Bruce Rogers. |
| Rogers had been one of the first astronauts to orbit the moon, but while doing so, his capsule passed through the tail of a strange comet. The effect was to endow Rogers with strange powers and also to give him a split personality. By day he was the normal, law abiding man he had always been, but as soon as moonlight struck him, he was transformed into the criminal Moon Man. |
| One night, as she was standing by the capsule, Stacy was struck by moonlight reflected from the space vehicle, bathing her in weird radiation like that from the comet which had affected Rogers. Stacy was now transformed into the Jekyll and Hyde like Lady Lunar. |
