| Robert DuBois was drafted during the Vietnam War, but he fled to Canada because he was terrified of dying. His younger brother Michael reported for induction in his place, passing himself off as Robert. Michael was sent into combat and came back a quadriplegic. When Robert learned of his brothers injuries he went insane from guilt and developed monomania focused on Vietnam and war. He spent decades in and out of asylums in Canada until employees of Lex Luthor contacted him. Luthor used psychological conditioning to convince Robert that he must kill Superman. Luthor armed Robert with advanced technology, re-christened him Bloodsport, and set him loose on the streets of Metropolis. |
